THIS HOUSE IS SOLD OUT
David Shabsels and Lisa Dewitt welcome you to their newly renovated midtown apartment. 212 East 48th Street is a pre-war cooperative building located in the heart of Turtle Bay neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan. It was built in 1924 and designed by John H. Duncan, the architect responsible for Grant’s Tomb, Hotel Wolcott and the Soldier's and Sailor's Memorial Arch in Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn. It has a beautiful marble lobby with arched French glass doors opening onto the building’s private garden. The apartments were recently combined and re-designed by the California innovative designer – Assaf Leib – as his debut project in the city. The old fashioned complexity of the original layout had drawn the no. 1 objective of the project: To create a spacious space in a transitional style – incorporating traditional and contemporary elements, and using the natural light as a guide for the architectural design. "My greatest achievement in this project was – to change the all-over-look and feel of the space from a typical Manhattan apartment – to a cozy home" – says Leib.
The dinner at the Shabsels residence is a contribution of Antibes Bistro of 112 Suffolk, Lower East Side. This is going to be a Mediterranean feast cooked by renowned Chef – David Shemesh.
